This course explores the history of democratic organizing. Examining both the origins and contemporary cases of collective action, students will learn from existing research how organizations turn individual resources into collective power, as well as about what major questions and challenges remain for scholars and practitioners in strengthening the organizational foundations of democracy in the United States and around the world.
