Daniela Rivas Clavel

Daniela Rivas Clavel graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon with a B.A. in International Affairs. She completed a senior thesis titled “Remittances and Democracy: Mexico’s Transition to an Electoral Democracy.” Originally from El Salvador, she has been an international student in the United States for six years. Her research interests include democratic backsliding, civil society development, forced internal displacement, and violent and nonviolent resistance, with an emphasis on Latin America.
