Emma Petite is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins studying international science and political science. She is interested in how the built environment in the United States has served to polarize and create disparate communities that inhibit the smooth functioning of democracy. Her past experiences with civic engagement include organizing the Saint Louis Young Women’s Leadership Conference and tutoring high school students who recently immigrated to the United States at the Saint Louis International Institute. On campus, she is a member of the Committee on Student Elections and Advocates for Reproductive and Sexual Health. She is looking forward to working with the Student Engagement Board to broaden the SNF Agora Institute’s presence on campus, in Baltimore, and beyond.
