Haadiya Ahmed is a third-year undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins studying international studies and public health with field interests in international development and peace-building.
At the SNF Agora Institute, Haadiya is designing a Democracy and Civic Engagement Plan for the Johns Hopkins University, under the supervision of Visiting Fellow, Scott Warren. Through this initiative, Haadiya intends to ensure that Johns Hopkins effectively applies deep-rooted democratic practices and methods to the university’s framework, so that her peers and community members have access to meaningful, personalized avenues of civic engagement.
Haadiya is passionate about civic mobilization, particularly amongst marginalized communities, and strongly believes in the power of youth leadership in creating social change. Haadiya’s diverse experiences across international and grassroots organizations have inspired her to pursue opportunities within the public service sector and lead towards building a just and equitable future for all
