Jayla Scott

2020-2021 Student Engagement Board

Jayla Scott is a sophomore in the Global Social Change and Development program at JHU. Her academic interests include foreign affairs, health, and sociology. Her ultimate career aspirations are to reduce the incidence of preventable chronic disease in vulnerable populations. She is the 2020-2021 Community Service Chair for the Black Student Union, an active member of the university’s First Generation, Limited-Income Network, a cheerleader, and a volunteer with THREAD. She is also a Woodrow Wilson Fellow doing an original research project through the Hematology Department at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Outside of Hopkins, she is an instructor at Reconstruction Inc.
