Ken Cai Kowalski is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is interested in workers’ experiences and perceptions of their labor, public trust in political institutions and expertise, and discursive justifications for social stratification. His research has been published in Sociological Perspectives, Socius, and New Media & Society. Currently, he is preparing to undertake dissertation research examining the relations between political ideology and partisan identities, cultural legitimation of economic inequality, and popular beliefs about the past, present, and futures of capitalism in the US context.
