Roelf Meyer

Co-Founder, United Democratic Movement

Meyer served as the Minister of Constitutional Development and Provincial Affairs for Nelson Mandela from 1994 to 1996 and as the Chief Negotiator for F.W. De Klerk in negotiations to end Apartheid from 1992 to 1994. He is the co-founder of the United Democratic Movement.

He is a member of Beyond Conflict’s International Advisory Council and the chairman of the Civil Society Initiative of South Africa.

Meyer also uses his experience to act as a consultant on peace processes and negotiations, such as in Northern Ireland, Rwanda and Kosovo.
